Back Kuehne+Nagel named a Leader in Gartner’s 2025 Magic Quadrant for 3PL
Gartner highlighted our strong performance across a wide range of logistics services, noting Kuehne+Nagel’s position as the world’s largest ocean freight forwarder, managing nearly 4.3 million TEUs annually. With a presence in nearly 100 countries and a workforce of over 80,000 people across 1,300 locations, our global scale remains unmatched.
Our continued focus on customer-centric logistics and strategic growth supported by acquisitions that bolstered expertise and execution capabilities was key to sustaining our leadership position.

Gartner praised our broad and tailored logistics service offerings across multiple modes of transport — sea, air, road, and contract logistics — as well as our specialised services for high-tech sectors including semiconductors and servers.
Our recent acquisitions — Apex Logistics in China, IMC Logistics in North America, Farrow for trade management, and City Zone Express in Asia-Pacific — were recognised as key enablers of our industry-specific solutions and market responsiveness.
While our premium service offerings and global scale remain competitive advantages, Gartner noted that visibility among small to midsize businesses could be improved. As we continue to customise and segment our service portfolio, we are focused on expanding our accessibility for businesses of all sizes through more local proximity as demonstrated with the opening of more than 30 new customer care locations in the US in 2024.
Additionally, the report suggests that clearer communication of our capabilities in growth and emerging industries could further strengthen our market positioning. Our ongoing expansion of services in emerging industries and markets as well as the introduction of new AI based products are at the heart of our strategic growth plan.
As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to advancing our innovation roadmap and further elevating the customer experience. This includes continued investment in digitalisation, data-driven visibility, and expanding value-added services to support resilient, agile supply chains.
Being recognised as a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant reflects the strength of our global team and the trust our customers place in us,” said Stefan Paul, CEO of Kuehne+Nagel. “As we continue to execute on our Roadmap 2026, we remain focused on driving innovation, advancing sustainable logistics solutions, and delivering meaningful value across increasingly complex global supply chains.”
